No. You do not need to and should not try to gain weight in preparation for a Skinny BBL.
Gaining weight before a Skinny BBL (or at any time) may cause your skin to stretch and can even leave stretch marks. But, as far as the Skinny BBL is specifically concerned, it gets worse.
Worse in that gaining weight in order to “prepare for a Skinny BBL” will eventually negatively impact the results of your Skinny BBL.
Here’s how and why.
Because fat cells don’t replicate, gaining weight merely means that your existing fat cells get larger.
That seems alright–it isn’t—until you later want to tone down or lose some of the fat you put on only for surgery. What happens then is that fat cells that were removed from your love handles, inner thighs, and abdomen and were injected into your buttocks in order to give you that perkier peach start to shrink, and you end up with a much less flattering result from your Skinny BBL.
Yet even if you don’t proactively try to lose weight after having a BBL or Skinny BBL, you would have to maintain about the same weight you had when you first went in for surgery in order to maintain your results. Weight loss will affect those results, sometimes dramatically.

Skinny BBL vs a Regular BBL
A Skinny BBL is a surgical procedure that involves transferring a smaller amount of fat into the buttocks than is typically done for a “standard” BBL. Because the smaller amount of fat is being added to a thinner and more narrow frame, the results are proportionally significant and the patient is left looking great, despite being of a smaller body size.
Where the traditional surgical BBL may involve harvesting and transferring as much as 1,000cc or 1-liter of fat from areas of the body that include the stomach, inner thighs, and lower back, not all patients have that much fat.
This makes the skinny BBL an ideal procedure for women with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 21.
A Skinny BBL Usually Treats More Than Just the Buttocks
Because patients who opt for a Skinny BBL usually have thinner legs, the Skinny BBL typically also addresses or treats areas from the lower back down to the knees, with small amounts of fatty tissue added throughout this area.
This approach ensures that the results of your Skinny BBL do not merely create a so-called “bubble butt” that fails to integrate well with the surrounding areas.
A Skinny BBL will correct hip dips, remove excess fat from the love handles and lower back, and reposition it accordingly through liposuction and re-injection in order to ensure the buttocks are “blended into” the outer sides of the upper legs, ending above the knee.
Fat can be taken from the love handle area, reducing it while enhancing the projection and size of the buttocks.
How much do you have to weigh for a Skinny BBL?
There is no official minimum weight requirement for a Skinny BBL. Patients who are 90 to 100lbs will typically see good results from the procedure.
While the suggested BMI for a Skinny BBL is usually less than 21, there are additional aspects that need to be considered:
- First, is that a smaller overall volume of fat goes a long way in a thin or skinny person. So where larger volumes of fat are needed in order to produce obvious or dramatic improvements for a heavier woman, smaller amounts of fat can be used to produce the same beautiful and dramatic results in thinner patients. #Ratio.
- Second, is that the contours of a beautiful Brazilian Butt Lift are achieved “simply” (or not so simply), by creating a waist that is more narrow than the ribs, and creating beautiful, well-contoured and nicely rounded buttocks. This particular physique can be created in almost any healthy adult female, whether they are thin or not.
Thinner patients need less overall fatty tissue on their body in order to create an aesthetically pleasing result—since a smaller amount of fat goes a long way in a thinner and smaller patient.
Is a Skinny BBL Right for Me?
Patients with a straight figure who lack hips and curves, and patients whose buttocks have less volume and projection than they desire are usually great candidates for a Skinny BBL.
The waist will be made thinner than the ribs, and the fat in the abdomen and love handles will be extracted through liposuction and be added into and around the buttocks, creating an aesthetically pleasing “S” curve.
This procedure can also reduce the size of the abdomen or stomach, safely shrink the waist, and fill out hip dips.
Gaining weight is not part of a patient’s preparations for a Skinny BBL. Physical examinations, stopping smoking, and ceasing certain medications that make bleeding and bruising worse are usually what is required in preparation for a Skinny BBL. Patients would also need to have realistic expectations for the outcome of their Skinny BBL, and their results can usually be quite dramatic and aesthetically pleasing.
A Skinny BBL will produce results that are much better (i.e., more obvious or dramatic) than a Non-Surgical Brazilian Butt Lift can provide.
