Dr. Daniel E Rousso is a triple board-certified facial plastic surgeon in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. Rousso’s 35-year career has been devoted to aesthetic plastic surgery of the face and neck, and to hair restoration. His practice, Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery Clinic & Med Spa, also offers most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments, including facials, microneedling, chemical peels, Botox and dermal fillers. Rousso once provided all surgical and nonsurgical treatments himself, but as his practice grew, he hired aesthetic staff to provide the nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. In September 2021, Rousso welcomed Dr. Austin Adams as partner to his practice, changing its name to Rousso Adams Facial Plastic Surgery. Adams, a double board-certified plastic surgeon, had been with the practice for more than four years. Dr. Rousso is recognized by staff and patients as a “very caring and genuinely friendly” person and an excellent facial plastic surgeon. He has authored 10 articles/book chapters on facial plastic surgery, covering eyelid surgery, the male facelift, and hair transplantation, and has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2004, for seven of which (2015-2021), he was acknowledged as a Top Regional Doctor. On the four most popular patient review platforms, Ruosso and his practice are rated between 4.3 and 5 stars, with their overall average rating being 4.8 out of 5-stars based on 479 patient reviews from 2013 to 2022.

Ratings & Reviews
Dr. Daniel E Rousso is a highly-rated Alabama plastic surgeon. Dr. Ruosso and his practice are rated between 4.3 and 5 stars on five of the most commonly used patient review platforms.
Based on all 479 patient reviews placed between 2013 and 2022, Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is rated 4.8 out of 5 stars, as detailed here:
Google: 5 Stars based on 132 reviews
Dr. Daniel Rousso is (one of the rare surgeons we’ve come across who is) rated an overall 5 out of 5 stars on Google.
Of the doctor’s 132 Google reviews, all but two are 5-star. The two 4-star reviews contain only a star-rating and no information as to why.
BirdEye: 5 Stars based on 180 unique reviews
Rousso Adams Facial Plastic Surgery Clinic has 330 reviews on BirdEye.com, of which all but 4 are 5-star ratings.
(180 of these reviews are unique to BirdEye, 150 are mirrored from Google. Forty-three have no star-rating.)
RealSelf: 4.3 Stars based on 28 reviews
Dr. Daniel E. Rousso is rated 4.3 out of 5 stars on RealSelf.com. On this platform Rousso has a total of seven reviews that are less than 5-stars: Two reviewers are actually quite satisfied with their results but gave a 4-star rating. A 3-star reviewee says she’ll “need more surgery” to fix her upper lip, which has ridges and marionette lines, despite having a facelift (January 2022), and another is disappointed her eyelids still droop (May 2019). Here the doctor has three 1-star reviews that date from 2013 and 2016.
[Note that this doctor is not accepting consultations via RealSelf, which is a choice made by many surgeons for various reasons. Reviews and ratings, however, can still be placed on his account thus by not participating in certain of RealSelf’s features, the doctor is not influencing review ratings.]
Yelp: 5 Stars based on 9 reviews, and 2.5 Stars based on 3 reviews.
Daniel E. Rousso is rated 5 out of 5 stars on Yelp.com, based on 9 reviews.
5 stars 9 reviews
As with nearly all other businesses with Yelp profiles, some of these reviews (8) are marked by Yelp as “currently not recommended.” Yelp determines this for a number of reasons and they often don’t have much rhyme or reason as to why.
2.5 stars 3 reviews
A second Yelp profile for the practice contains 3 reviews, one of which is five-star, the other, one-star. The two one-star reviews from March and April 2022, related to 1) office wait times, and 2) a reviewer who claims to be a former patient (and may well be) says she needed “3 operations to remove infected implants” and that the doctor “refused to refund 1 cent” though he “admitted results were bad, infected and implants had migrated.”
Eight additional reviews are not recommended by Yelp (and not factored in the practice’s star-rating): 7 of these are rave 5-star reviews, and 1 of them is 1-star (August 2021, visible facelift incisions; patient believes a doctor in training may have performed his/her surgery.).
HealthGrades: 4.7 Stars based on 130 reviews
Dr. Rousso is rated 4.7 out of 5 stars on HealthGrades.com, based on 130 patient reviews from January 2016 through July 2020 [when reviews end].
One hundred eighteen (118) of the doctor’s reviews are 5-star.
Six (6) of them are 1-star. As each of the Dr’s six 1-star ratings include no explanation/written review, there’s no telling who these patients are, what procedures they allegedly had, or why they rated the surgeon poorly.
[HealthGrades uses all ratings to determine a doctor’s overall star rating (in this case, 4.7 out of 5 stars) , but only displays ratings that include a written review.]
ShareCare merely copies/summarizes the reviews already seen above on HealthGrade, so here, too, Dr. Rousso is rated an overall 4.7 stars out of 130 reviews, 118 of which are 5-star and six of which are 1-star but include no reason as to why.

Surgeon Safety Profile
All plastic surgical procedures involve the risk of serious bodily injury and/or death. Industry-standard consent forms require that plastic surgery patients attest to being aware of death as a possible outcome of plastic surgery and of the anesthesia used during surgery.
Dr. Daniel E. Rousso has no patient deaths.
Dr. Daniel E. Rousso has never been sued by a patient (or non patient).
[An extortion website falsely claims otherwise.]
A Jan. 2020 indictment of one “Daniel E. Russo,” a pharmacist in New York, is not related to this plastic surgeon.
A March 1996 lawsuit, not filed against this surgeon, mentions that, “Dr. Daniel E. Rousso performed revisional nasal surgery,” after another surgeon left the plaintiff/patient with adverse conditions and that “after Dr. Rousso [this surgeon] had performed the second surgical procedure[;] her infection began to clear up and that she had no more problems with inflammation.” Again, this lawsuit was not filed against this surgeon, but his name is included in it as he performed a revision surgery after a patient’s poor outcome with another surgeon.
No malpractice claims, disciplinary actions, legal allegations or lawsuits, court orders, settlements or judgments, or other related filings exist for Dr. Daniel Elliott Rousso on the State of Alabama Medical Licensure Commission’s website.
Procedure Limitations
Dr. Rousso does not offer plastic surgery for the breasts, body, or buttocks.
He and his practice focuses exclusively on the face, head, and hair.
These areas are where the surgeon’s passions, training, and experience lie.
It is typically considered a positive attribute for a surgeon to decline performing certain procedures—no single surgeon can possibly master each of the 29+ possible plastic surgeries available today. They may do so for a wide variety of reasons and it is in your own best interest to pursue a plastic surgeon who is both passionate and professionally adept in your procedure(s) of choice.
