Board-Certified
Dr. Ashkan Ghavami, MD is a plastic surgeon and inventor, according to his practice website.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which is widely considered the best possible organization to assure quality, experience, and education in the field of plastic surgery.
In California, any doctor can legally perform plastic surgery procedures, though they may not have been specially trained to do so. For instance, it’s legal for a dentist, pediatrician, or anyone else with a valid medical license to do the surgeries, but without board-certification, there’s no way to tell what the results are likely to be.
Board-certified plastic surgeons are held to higher standards of quality, experience, and continuing education, in programs and apprenticeships that can last for 5-6 years.
